Hello and welcome to the brand new Paul Cordes Wilm site ... Summer is finally here, even though it's felt like Summer for a solid month!

Wow ... I have 3 shows coming up in 3 months :

July = "Black Sheep" @ Crestwood Coffee Company {opening Sat. 7/9/10 4-6P}
August = "Interchangeable Hearts" show with Bo Hughins @ Boutwell Studios {opening 7/31/10 5-9P}
September = "Destroyers" show with Daisy Winfrey @ Bottletree {opening 9/3/10 5-9P}

HERE are some images from the "Signs Of Our Times" group show i participated in at Naked Art Gallery recently.

My paintings are also featured in the Summer issue of the online magazine, Six Little Things.

Also, lately I painted a picnic table for Bottletree in the "backstage band area"

Here is a step-by-step photo history of the making of it:

And here are the very crude beginnings of the works that will eventually make up my upcoming "Black Sheep" show ... enjoy! :

Also, recently a portrait I painted of Alabama author Albert Murray was presented to Al Head for his 25th anniversary of being the executive director of the Alabama State Council On The Arts!

Word has it that he was rather pleased with it:

The Alabama Writer's Forum wrote a News Flash about the event:

The Alabama Writers’ Forum celebrated Al Head’s 25th anniversary as executive director of the Alabama State Council on the Arts at its May 14 Board of Directors meeting by presenting him with a portrait of Alabama authorAlbert Murray by Birmingham artist Paul Cordes Wilm and a framed broadside of an excerpt from Murray’s 1971 book South to a Very Old Place. “These gifts are very meaningful to me,” said Head. “Albert Murray is an important artist from Alabama…. As I travel around the country, I’m often asked about the Forum. In many ways, this program is a model which other states envy.” (photo by Steve Grauberger)
